Android ‘Key Lime Pie’ to follow after Jelly Bean

The Verge has today been tipped by a “reliable source” that the next version of its Android operating system is to be known as Key Lime Pie. It is due to succeed the currently unannounced Android 5.0 Jelly Bean iteration that we already know a little bit about.

Another delicious Android dessert, this time it's Key Lime Pie - Source

Like everyone else we currently have no idea what features will be included in Key Lime Pie but the rise of Android on laptops and the death integration of Chrome OS into Android could be possible. It is also reasonable to expect more information on Android Key Lime Pie later this year with an unveiling as soon as early 2013.

In case you were not aware Android follows a somewhat strict alphabetical naming scheme that is closely tied with desserts. It all started in April 2009 with Cupcake, following that was Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb and most recently Ice Cream Sandwich. Jelly Bean and Key Lime Pie are also set to continue this trend.

Kitguru says: Even if I happened to deteste Android (I don't,) Google has at least taught me the names of many delicious looking desserts.
