US Apple stores may open 8am for iPad 3 launch

The demand for the upcoming Apple iPad 3 is reaching fever pitch. All initial stocks are accounted for, with delays now set for 3 weeks in most parts of the world. To help cope with the demand, some Apple stores in America are said to open at 8am on the 16th of March.

Chron have an article detailing the seventh Houston area store in the Highland Village shopping center which opens on Friday. They say it will ‘boast the largest sales area of the companies Texas retail outlets'.

They have verified that this store will open at 8am on the same day as the iPad 3 launches and it may that other Apple stores will follow suit.

No information yet if the UK stores will be opening earlier on iPad 3 launch day, but we would assume that stocks will be limited anyway. An industry insider said that retail store stock of the iPad3 is likely to sell out on the first day, opening at 8am won't really help matters any.
