Apple & Google leaders speak about patent issues

Apple and Google are making a peace offering by entering into talks over patent disputes. The latest news would indicate that Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Larry Page spoke last week and are expected to expand upon their initial conversation regarding company patents.

Bloomberg issued the news report stating that a ‘person with knowledge of the talks' spoke to them directly. The direct conversations come shortly after Apple were awarded $1.05 billion in damages in a patent infringement case against one of Google's strongest partner, Samsung.

Apple have long had ‘issues' with Google. Late Apple CEO Steve Jobs spoke to biographer Walter Isaacson saying “I am going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go to thermonuclear war on this. They are scared to death, because they know they are guilty.”

The initial talks between Apple and Google look to be positive. Perhaps they want to resolve their issues without another expensive, long legal battle in courts across the globe.

Kitguru says: More details on these ‘talks' are sure to leak online over the coming months.
