Samsung rumoured to launch three Windows Phones this year

Nokia has recently stolen the Windows Phone limelight due to its string of successive Lumia series launches across the world, but let's not forget the other players. To some people's amazement, Nokia was not the first to have a Windows Phone 7 handset out and about in the market. HTC, Acer, LG and even Dell had numerous devices out well before the first Lumias from Nokia arrived in stores.

Samsung, better known for producing highly successful flagship Android smartphones, has also dabbled previously in the Windows Phone market. Their Omnia 7 handset was widely accepted as the best first generation Windows Phone 7 device. Now new rumours are suggesting that Samsung will launch three new Windows Phone devices this year.

The first of which is codenamed ‘Mandel' and is said to run Windows Phone Tango and come with 4G LTE. Tango is the new version of Windows Phone 7 due to be rolling out sometime this month that will open up Windows Phone to more devices and markets around the world. This update will also include the integration of Skype into the operating system.

The next two smartphones will come running on Windows Phone 8, currently known as Apollo within Microsoft. No further details are known on these two Windows Phones but what we do know so far is that Apollo will bring support for multiple cores and support a larger variety of display resolutions. Windows Phone has been deserving a device with a HD screen for some time now.
