Activision claim Black Ops II is realistic: release documentary vids

There has been a lot of discussion online about the upcoming Black Ops II game from Activision. The story, set in 2025 seems unusual, but developer Treyarch have stood by their storyline decisions and have even released a series of documentary videos.

A terrorist leader takes over America's robot and drone armies and turns them against their creators. This is the basic premise behind Black Ops II and some gamers haven't welcomed the scenario with open arms.

Activision has released videos detailing all the research that went into the title, defending the plot of the upcoming game. Treyarch, the developer behind the title have said that the storyline is plausible.

The game is set in a future world after a terrorist mastermind hacks into American military systems and has taken command of a fleet of robotic drones. He then programs them to attack American cities and even threatens China which can only be dealt with by Black Ops specialists. Heroes to the rescue.

The subplot is that the conflict is based around fighting for ownership of rare earth elements, much in the way recent years have seen the continued battle for oil.

The weaponry seems to be futuristic too, with self guiding bullets and Microwave heat ray guns part of the arsenal on offer.

Activision managed to get hold of retired war experts, such as Singer and Lt. Col. Oliver North. Singer dramatically says “The future is not as far off as we think. We’re not ready for it.”

It really isn't Science Fiction. Or so they say. Check out the documentary videos below.
