Making money in the mobile sector today is not easy, especially against fierce Apple and Android competition. Nokia have been struggling for some time now, but they have announced that the smartphone battle will hurt them in first quarter earnings.
To make matters worse they claim that second quarter earnings will be no better. The hardest hit territories are said to be the Middle East, India, China and Africa. Analysts claim that the dominance of Apple and Android handsets are hurting the company badly. To compound matters, there are a plethora of low cost phones being made by Asian companies who are flooding the low end sector.
Nokia have been mentioned in the press for some hardware issues recently and have admitted there is a data connection problem with their Lumia 900, only a few days after the American launch.
