On Thursday the third of May, a date just two and a half weeks away from today, Samsung will announce its next Galaxy device at a Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in London. On the press invite it tells us to “come and meet the next Galaxy.” It is highly unlikely that Samsung will hold an event of this size for a couple of low end phones so what we are looking at is a Galaxy S III announcement. This is confirmed by a Samsung employee saying exactly the same thing.
While the Galaxy S III name has not been confirmed by Samsung it is fairly safe to assume that this is what Samsung's flagship smartphone will be called. Rumours also suggest a quad core Exynos processor, a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display and LTE integration. It will likely ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung's TouchWiz skin layered on top. It is currently anyone's guess as to what the shell of the phone will look like, especially so considering test units will likely be cleverly disguised when in public.
KitGuru says: The mountain left behind by the Galaxy S II will be a tough one to conquer; hopefully Samsung has installed the necessary tools in its successor.
