A new lower-end smartphone is soon to be heading our way courtesy of HTC and is destined to be known in retail channels as the Wildfire C. Currently codenamed as the HTC Golf, it will come running with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich combined with HTC's Sense 4.0 skin and be situated below the HTC One series in terms of hierarchy.
The HTC Wildfire C is rumoured to come with a single core CPU running at a clock speed below 1 GHz. It is also due to have 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage plus a MicroSD slot and HTC's 25 GB complementary Dropbox storage. Up front will be a 3.5 inch display with a 480 by 320 pixel resolution, which is rather disappointing for a display of its size. The Beats Audio enhancement is also present, as well as a 5 MP camera and a front facing webcam.
HTC's successor to their previous low-end but successful Wildfire and Wildfire S smartphones, the HTC Wildfire C, will reportedly launch by the end of Q2 with a very affordable price tag.
KitGuru says: Android 4.0 and an affordable smartphone should combine to form a successful team.
