Samsung wants to sell 200 million smartphones this year

Samsung has been flying high in recent times by taking the crown for the largest phone vendor worldwide. The Korean giant doesn't want to stop there though, according to mobile division president JK Shin, Samsung expects to sell over 200 million smartphones in 2012.

Samsung expects to sell a lot of these this year; 200 million to be precise

Sadly, Samsung does not publicly release sales figures and amounts but according to Strategy Analytics they sold nearly 45 million smartphones in the first quarter of the year. This puts them well on track towards their 200 million unit goal.

With the launch of the Galaxy S III last week, Samsung is also now putting more of an emphasis on the software experience. The “pop up play”, S Beam and S Voice features launched with the Galaxy S III only goes to confirm this. However, Samsung's TouchWiz UX skin still looks as tired as ever.

KitGuru says: We have little doubt that Samsung will achieve their 200 million smartphone sales target.
