Macbook Pro may get high res ‘retina display’

New, double resolution images have been found in the second developer build of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. This means that new Macintosh computers could very well ship with a Retina display, or HiDPi mode. We have all seen how the ultra high resolution panels have improved the iPad 3, so it makes sense for Apple to move the technology into other systems they produce.

Cramming so many pixels into the same area can improve the display quality significantly, and even the colours can look more saturated and cleaner.

Kitguru says: If they drop the DVD drive and improve/enlarge the battery, it could be possible. Would you buy it just for the new screen?
