Intel CFO Bryant will become chairman next month

Intel's former chief financial officier and current director Andy Bryant will be taking over as the board chairman next month after the current chairman Jane Shaw retires. A document was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange commission on Wednesday.

Bryant has already received the seal of approval from the board of directors and the appointment is now only subject to shareholder approval. This matter has been discussed now by many publications for some time and is considered one of Intel's worst kept secret.

Andy Bryant: Intel

Bryant was given the vice chairman position in Intel last July after a long history of working for the company, serving recently as chief administrative officer. He was responsible for monitoring manufacturing, finances and IT spending and held the position until January this year.

Intel said in a ‘proxy' statement “The Board determined that it and the company can benefit through Mr. Bryant's extensive experience with Intel that includes 13 years of service as our CFO, and more recently as the senior executive responsible for the Technology and Manufacturing Group, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Finance.”

Kitguru says: Intel's annual shareholder meeting is scheduled for May 17th in Santa Clara, California.
