HTC explains how its One X is better than Samsung’s Galaxy S III

The Samsung Galaxy S III launched in Europe and Asia just over a week ago amidst a fair amount of hype – and for the most part it has been largely justified. Right now, the only thing standing in the way of Samsung's latest Galaxy flagship is HTC's own One X smartphone and to play sales into the hands of HTC, they have dished out some sales pitch information favouring the One X ever so slightly.

First off, HTC tells sales reps that many things are better than the Galaxy for rather odd reasons. Strangely a 1.5 GHz quad core processor sounds better than a 1.4 GHz quad core processor right? Well it is until you learn that the Exynos 4412 in the Galaxy pulls ahead of the NVIDIA chip in the One X. We'll give HTC the fact that their camera has better low light performance but in reality the Samsung has a higher burst capture frame rate. Furthermore, both phones have a polycarbonate shell yet for some reason HTC calls the Galaxy's materials “plastic” and its design “disappointing”. Contrary, the HTC design is “world acclaimed”. Slight exaggerations there HTC.

The next image shows some countering points in some of the areas where the Galaxy is a better phone including the battery. Apparently the One X's battery can “easily” last a full day, something I agree with if you're a fairly light user. We'll let the image do the rest of the talking and some of the points HTC's marketing team brings up are very interesting.

KitGuru says: At the end of the day you really can't go wrong with either phone, trust me, I have both of them sitting on my desk as you read this.

  1. Polycarbonate is a subset of plastic.

  2. I have a \Galaxy Nexus personally, but the One X should get a lot of people buying it. That this is damn sexy. If I were in the market for a new phone the One X would get a very serious look.
