Images of the Nexus 7 and Nexus Q leak

We knew it had to happen and it has. Thanks to a leak from Google's Play Store we now have images and some information on the Nexus 7 tablet and a funnily-shaped object called the Nexus Q. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F5FO-MyR0o']

The Nexus Q is apparently some sort of “social streaming media device” and is a part of the Google Play@Home initiative, a revised version of Android@Home that could eventually allow for controlling your light switch with your Gogole device. It will have Wi-Fi and an ethernet port and can grab your media files from the cloud for playback.

A render of the Nexus 7 tablet has leaked as well and interestingly it has what looks like a phone UI. Whether this is just an old image or a new look to Jelly Bean we will find out soon as the keynote begins and can be streamed here.

We are bound to find out more about both of these interesting devices within a few hours as the Keynote progresses.

Update: The specifications have been revealed for the Nexus 7 tablet and it will come in 8 GB and 16 GB variants. It will have a 7 inch 1280 x 800 IPS display, a 1.2 MP front-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM and a spacious 4,325 mAh battery. The chipset is of course the NVIDIA Tegra 3 and the OS will be Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Sadly, it looks as if the Nexus 7 will be us US-only, at least at launch.

KitGuru says: The Nexus Q streaming device looks like a beautiful piece of hardware.
