Loewe deny Apple $113 million takeover deal

Loewe have denied rumours that they were selling to Apple for $113 million. The German TV maker issued a statement saying the report has ‘absolutely nothing to do with it'.

AppleInsider released information at the weekend which suggested that Apple were in talks to acquire the company. Loewe then contacted German website Heise to respond to the report. They said that the deal had reportedly yet to be agreed.

The German company were said to “have been advised by its financial advisor to accept the offer and a final decision is scheduled to be announced internally before 18 May 2012.” according to the Appleinsider news. Sharp are one of the major shareholders in Loewe, and they are meant to be supplying panels for the upcoming Apple television set. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqg5R9kqRyI']

The report would add strength to the news that Apple will be releasing new high definition television sets in the next year. In other news today Foxconn chief has split the beans that they will be producing the new Apple television.

Kitguru says: Will Apple take over the television industry as they do with everything else they touch? Its a tough market to crack.
