PlayStation’s Project Q handheld runs on Android according to leaked images

During Sony’s PlayStation Showcase, the console manufacturer officially announced Project Q – a Remote Play enabled handheld which will allow you to play your PS5 games away from the console itself. Few details were shared at the time, however thanks to a new set of leaked images we can now see that the Project Q handheld is in fact running Android – giving the device a great deal of potential.

Publishing a set of images alongside a brief video to Twitter, self-proclaimed tech enthusiast ‘Zuby_Tech’ showed off what appears to be PlayStation’s Project Q handheld. While the device was shown off officially already, it was claimed at the time that the design may change.

Based on these leaked images the device does not seem to have gone through any such alterations.

Much more interesting is the fact that the video reveals that the Project Q handheld is running on Android, meaning alongside all of its PlayStation Remote Play shenanigans, it could theoretically run a bunch of emulators or even Xbox Game Pass.

We will have to wait and see, but the Project Q handheld has immediately become much more enticing.
