Forza Horizon 5 races past 32 million total players

The Forza Horizon sub-franchise has been going from strength to strength – with the spin-off series in many ways surpassing the mainline Forza entries. Since its launch back in November of 2021, the game has gone on to be played by more than 32 million people.

As reported by Exputer, in looking at Forza Horizon 5’s in-game ‘hall of fame’ leaderboard it can be seen that the latest entry in the racing sub-series has been played by over 32 million people – 32,352,266 to be exact.

For comparison, the game hit 28 million back in February of this year, meaning it has added another 4 million racers in the past 6 months or so. While the game’s rate of adoption has of course slowed down since launch, its continued success is impressive to witness.

Following its launch back in November of 2021, Forza Horizon 5 quickly amassed over 15 million players – achieving this figure in just two months. The game then added a further 5 million players by June 2022, with the year since then seeing this number increase further to the aforementioned 32 million players.

It is worth noting that this number includes the total player base, meaning that if a person were to simply play for 5 minutes their contribution would count towards this figure. Furthermore, with Horizon being a day-one Game Pass addition, it is safe to say that a large percentage of the 32 million likely played via the service.

Still, this is a highly impressive figure regardless and matches the game’s equally as high critical reception. It will be interesting to see whether the more hardcore Forza Motorsport from Turn10 Studios ends up seeing just as great of a reception when it releases on the 10th of October.
