Specifications leak for three HTC Windows Phone 8 devices

While the Microsoft storm has subdued following the announcement of the Surface tablets and Windows Phone 8 last week, leaked information about some Windows Phone 8 devices from HTC reveal some powerful hardware. Specifications for three phones have been leaked that are currently referenced to as the Rio, Accord and Zenith.

The Rio will likely be an entry level device with a 4 inch WVGA (480×800) display, a Qualcomm MSM8227 chipset that includes the 1GHz dual-core Krait processor and the Adreno 305 GPU. There will be a 5 MP camera complete with 720p video capture, 512 MB of RAM and 14.4 Mb/s HSPA connectivity.

The Accord will feature a 4.3 inch 720p Super LCD 2 display, an unspecified dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. It will have a 8 MP camera with 1080p video capture, NFC and 42 Mb/s HSPA+ connectivity.

The HTC Zenith will likely be the flagship Windows Phone 8 device from HTC and will include a 4.7 inch 720p Super LCD 2 display and a quad-core Qualcomm processor. It will also boast the same camera specifications as the Accord with a 8 MP sensor and 1080p video capture. 42 Mb/s HSPA+ connectivity will be present but one would assume LTE will also be part of the package.

The Rio and Accord are scheduled tentatively for an October launch while the Zenith will launch later in the closing quarter of 2012.

KitGuru says: Perhaps HTC will find a new high volume market with these devices, something that they are undoubtedly hoping for.
