Google Chrome for Android leaves beta

We discovered this morning during the first of two main Google I/O keynotes that Google Chrome would become the standard browser in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Today also marks the release of the first stable update for Chrome for Android, leaving behind the beta tag in the process.

The update provides some important stability and performance improvements along with some minor user interface adjustments which are most notable on tablets. The blog post detailing this also tells us to “stay tuned for more information” regarding information on alternate releases channels of Google's mobile browser so it appears that advanced users will be able to install beta builds like the desktop version.

The first stable release of Chrome is available for devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or newer and is available for download in the Play Store.

KitGuru says: If you can live without Adobe Flash support then this really is the Android browser to use.
