Android 4.1.1 now available for the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7

Following yesterday's news that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean source code is now available to the masses, updates for a couple of Nexus devices are now rolling out. “Over the next couple of days” Android 4.1.1 (build JRO03C) will be made available on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 7 tablet.

Jelly Bean is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7.

The OTA update for the Nexus 7 is presumably the same version that will be on shipping tablets later this month. It “improves performance and responsiveness system wide,” removes the ability to download Adobe Flash Player from the Play Store and adds in Google Wallet by default.

The HSPA+ version of the Galaxy Nexus is also getting updated from Android Ice Cream Sandwich to the latest Jelly Bean build. Owners will now be able to soak in the new features such as Google Now, offline voice dictation, Project Butter and smarter notifications.

KitGuru says: If only updates for every Android device were this quick.
