Patriot Viper ‘Black Mamba’ 2133mhz Gen 3 16GB review

Today we are looking at the latest high performance memory from Patriot – the Viper ‘Black Mamba'. This memory has been designed for the latest Intel DDR3 motherboards and features a new ‘high performance heat shield' to reduce the temperatures. The new Black Mamba kits will be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities at speeds between 1,600mhz and 2,133mhz.

Patriot, in a similar fashion to G.Skill have been releasing a multitude of high performance DDR3 kits this year to target the discerning enthusiast user.

Today we are pairing up two of the 8GB Viper ‘Black Mamba' kits to test in QUAD Channel configuration with the class leading ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard.

  3. Metallica ram? Patriot should pay LARS ulrich to use them for drumsticks on the next tour, for a laugh.

  4. Pretty disappointed you don’t mention anything about voltages apart from ‘it defaulted to 1.65v’ on the 4th page. So what volts did you actually test the ram at and did they run at the advertised 1.5v????

  6. What about FPS gaming performance? raising the speed and increasing the timings is all well and good, but will drop the framerates. Any chance you can also test RAM in games next time? As gamers upgrade their RAM as much as other users, your review didn’t really help me much.
