Samsung Galaxy Note II rumoured to feature flexible display

Ahead of its late August debut, the Samsung Galaxy Note II has had another rumour attributed to it – the presence of a flexible AMOLED display. Samsung has been working on this technology for quite a while now and it is a fair possibility that it will make its debut with the Note II.

Samsung's Galaxy Note successor will be unveiled later this year with the possibility of a flexible display.

While you might be hoping for a fully flexible device, the fragile electrical components have not caught up yet so the flexible display will allow for a slightly curved display. This, combined with a plastic substrate will result in a much tougher display than current devices. Furthermore, it decreases the thickness of the display component, which will allow Samsung to increase the size of other components including the battery over the previous Note while maintaining similar dimensions.

The Galaxy Note II will be unveiled on August 29th at a pre-IFA event in Berlin, Germany.

KitGuru says: If the flexible display lives up to expectations the Note II will sell well.
