Microsoft showcase new tablet mice and keyboards

While Microsoft are busy hyping their upcoming Surface tablet they have announced a upcoming range of mobile input devices to support their Windows 8 operating system.

There are four new devices, BlueTooth powered, which are aimed at Windows 8 tablets and laptops. Microsoft said they also support iOS and Android tablets, with the hope that they will sell more.

The Wedge Mobile Keyboard looks interesting. The thick rubber sleeve will help protect the keyboard in transit. Once the keyboard is removed the sleeve will fold in half to create an adjustable tablet stand.

The price is set at $79.95, so around £65 in the United Kingdom when it is released.

The Wedge Touch mouse uses a BlueTrack sensor, and it should work on almost any surface, ideal for when there is limited movement space for a traditional mouse. There is a four way scrolling system instead of a scroll wheel which works across any area along the surface. This will be priced at $69.95.

The Sculpt Touch Mouse is a less expensive mouse, aimed at the $49.99 price point. It has no BlueTrack sensor with only a four way scroll strip.

The Sculpt Travel Keyboard is a tablet version of Microsoft's popular Comfort Keyboard. This will be priced at $49.95 and is a wireless unit to hook into Windows 8 OS.

All of these are due for release soon, in time for the Surface and Windows 8 launch in October.
