For those people looking for a relatively affordable yet powerful Android smartphone then the HTC ‘Proto' is one to look out for. It is rumoured to launch in Autumn (or fall) and will come in between the current One V and One S smartphones from HTC.
Coming in at 9.62mm thin the ‘Proto' will be paired with a 4 inch WVGA (480×800) SLCD display, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage plus a 5 MP rear camera. The processor in question will be the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8225 clocked at 1 GHz. This will be paired with the previously unseen Adreno 203 GPU.
Software wise, it will be enhanced with Beats Audio and will likely be paired with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. A device of this caliber should also be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean after launch. It is expected to debut later this year during the fall.
KitGuru says: The Proto could be the perfect first smartphone for first time owners.
