HTC ‘Endeavour C2’ rumoured as One X successor for later this year

HTC's current flagship smartphone, the One X, may not hold that title for much longer. The latest rumours about the Taiwanese company reveal a device codenamed as the ‘Endeavour C2'. The current One X was codenamed the ‘Endeavour' so this device will likely be its interim successor with a few specification improvements.

According to the rumours it will ship with a Tegra 3 chipset with a quad-core processor running at 1.7 GHz . The new package will also offer an “improved” battery”, more colour options and bundled urBeats earphones in the box. The ‘Endeavour C2' will also be compatible with exiting One X accessories, which implies that externally they will be very similar.

Software improvements will be present and includes ClearVoice for improved voice call quality and “HTC Watch 2” which is an improved version of HTC's movie streaming service. Chances are it could also launch with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Sense 4.1.

Currently, the HTC ‘Endeavour C2' is rumoured for a UK release around October 1st with contract pricing increased around £5 per month over the One X.

KitGuru says: While these improvements will be welcome, will it be enough to take the Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 head on?
