Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail expansion announced

During Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest yesterday, Square Enix announced the MMO's next major expansion, Dawntrail. Scheduled to release in 2024, Dawntrail will bring a new campaign set in the “New World”, the level cap will increase from 90 to 100 and players will have new class jobs to try out.

Dawntrail is planned to release in Summer 2024 and will be the first expansion to launch day-one on Xbox, alongside PC and PlayStation. Ahead of the expansion, Final Fantasy 14 will finally launch on Xbox, and with Patch 6.5x, an open beta for the new console version will become available. The next major Final Fantasy 14 patch will also greatly expand the game's free trial, which will now include all content from the base game, Heavensward and Stormblood expansions.

Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail is set in a new continent on Eorzea, known as Tural. Players will be asked to take part in the selection process to find Tural's next ruler and resolve a conflict between two factions. Tural will include a new hub city, new dungeons and enemies, new gear and recipes for crafting, new raids and a big PvP update.

Square Enix has not yet officially revealed the two new Jobs coming with the expansion, but we do know that both will be DPS jobs, with one focused on melee combat and the other focused on ranged magic.
