Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 update coming next week

Last week a leaked Android 4.1 build for the international Samsung Galaxy S III build was captured on film and now Android Central's sources claim that the official Jelly Bean update for its flagship smartphone will commence following the Samsung Unpacked event next week on the 29th.

The firmware update is apparently in its final stages of testing and brings new features such as Google Now and the redesigned notification area. Samsung will also incorporate some new TouchWiz features including “dormant mode” and “easy mode” for better notifications management and simplified homescreen management.

This is also the same day that we are expecting the Galaxy Note II to be unveiled, which will likely be a Galaxy S III in a larger shell plus a stylus.

KitGuru says: All going well, the Jelly Bean update will start to roll out from the middle of next week to international and unlocked handsets.
