Well connected, highly regarded Apple journalist Jim Diarymple posted that Apple may be preparing to showcase their next generation iPhone and iPad Mini at two, separate media events later this year.
He posted in response to a theory by Daring Fireball's John Gruber. Gruber initially said that it would make more sense for Apple to release the two devices over multiple events.
Gruber said “I’m thinking it makes more sense for Apple to hold two events. First, an iPhone event, focused solely on the new iPhone and iOS 6. Then, the iPhone ships nine days later, and there’s another wave of iPhone-focused attention as the reviews come out. Then, in the first or second week of October, Apple holds its traditional “music event”, exactly along the lines of the events at which they’ve been debuting new iPods for the last decade.”
Dairymple simply replied with a ‘Oh that Gruber is a smart fellow.'
Of course, the story isn't over. Every time Apple plan on releasing a new product the surrounding hype builds until it is finally in the public domain.
