The Business: More GTA V screenshots

Hot off the heels of yesterday's more relaxed looking GTA V screens, featuring tennis courts, parachuting and the sheer beauty of the natural world Rockstar looks to have created for its next Grand Theft Auto title, we have four new screengrabs that showcase scenes with a little more focus on the action.

First up is a flatbed with a man hanging off the side and cops following closely behind. The wheelbed of the trailer doesn't seem particularly stable, hinting that the entire thing could jackknife at any moment. Interestingly, the guy doesn't seem to be the one from the original trailer. In-fact he's the wrong skin colour altogether.

Still, cop chases in GTA are old hat at this point. How about a prop plane?

That's what's lined up in the next screen, featuring some stunning looking scenery and great looking water. Rockstar has said before that flight will play a bigger part in this game, with more jets and helicopters being used. Clearly an old school prop plane will also be flyable.

Following on from that is a screengrab of the same guy that was riding the flatbed, this time behind the wheel of a Laborghini clone car. In the background we have a a hovering police chopper, with laser gun mounted, assault rifle toting SWAT team hitching a ride, just ahead of several other police cars in hot pursuit.

Finishing up we have a night time shot, with a helicopter about to have its search light blown out by several rounds from an AK47. The individual holding it looks like the guy from the trailer, but it's hard to tell because of the angle.

While these shots do look very pretty, they're decidedly current-gen. There's still a lot of aliasing if you pull them up to their full size and none of it blows you away like the latest Crytek trailers, but it's still impressive what Rockstar has been able to milk out of the available technology.

KitGuru Says: So we have a new playable character perhaps? As well as hints at a new way of stealing cars – right off the back of a truck – and a business at the airport that seems to be called Jetstream Terminal – despite it looking like a shipyard. Did you guys make anything else out from the images?

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.

  1. It is a shipyard, look at the big ship at rigth, middle of the image. Thankfully, reflections are improved. You can see the deffered reflection of the road on the side of the Infernus (and the building on the previous batch of images featuring the cheetah). They added Boken field. This built still lacking tesselation. The second front axle of the truck is screwed up. (?) Maybe it got hit when one of the characters in game aligned to hijack that Dukes on the Flatbed. On the third image you can see there is a Dukes Police Cruiser, meaning ‘Ned’ character tresspassed Las Venturas desert accesspoint. (We willl get -part of- the desert at least).

I bet Rockstar will release This Big Los Santos, we will have a next-gen GTA 5. GTA 6 will focus on San Fierro and Las Venturas and an incredibly large San Andreas as some DLC will glue it alltogether. My dream.
