Bohemia Interactive scouts arrested by Greek authorities

Two members of staff from ARMA developer, Bohemia Interactive, have been arrested by authorities for espionage on a military installation on an island off the Greek coast, called Lemnos.

Apparently the island is set to feature in the next instalment of the ARMA series, with the two staff members – believed both to be Czech and aged 28 and 33, though remain unnamed at the time of writing – attempting to gain photographic inspiration for the game's development.

The story was initially broken by News237, which said that the two were found to have videod and taken photographs of military camps – something the Greek authorities were not keen on. The pair are now being threatened with charges for espionage, which has a maximum jail term of 20 years.

The arrest was later confirmed by head at Bohemia, Marek Spanel, on the official forums. He confirmed the speculation from members, but said that: “We prefer this topic not to be discussed on our forums at the moment, at least until we know more specific details about the case.”

Lemnos
Zombies in the desert sounds cool

Lemnos has been confirmed in the past as the setting for ARMA III. Part of the reasoning was its remote location, as well as varied climate – including Europe's only desert.

KitGuru Says: Hopefully these guys will make it out ok. It seems likely that their story can be confirmed by a lot of people, so fingers crossed they make it out without losing more than their cameras.
