HTC eyes price cuts as possible solution to stage a comeback

It isn't surprising any more that HTC is not performing as well as they did a couple of years ago. This is happening regardless of impressive products such as the flagship One X and a focus on quality over quantity. In an effort to turn this financial misfortune around, the Taiwanese company may be planning price cuts across their entire smartphone line-up.

HTC could be planning to cut prices across their smartphone line-up.

According to reports, HTC is planning to lower prices for existing and upcoming devices running both the Android and Windows Phone platforms. Part of this could be done by dropping Beats Audio which is little more than an audio equalizer however HTC has already denied this.

“HTC remains strongly committed to Beats Audio and including their innovation in our devices. Any rumor of HTC no longer integrating Beats Audio into our devices is categorically false.” – HTC told Android Central.

Regardless of HTC's claims, it remains apparent to us that they could reserve the Beats Audio feature for upper tier devices and save themselves a chunk of licensing costs for lower-end devices.

KitGuru says: While dropping prices could result in a lower quality brand name, right now it seems like a good move for HTC.
