In the latest round of Nexus device rumours we have an entrance from LG. Images reveal a device that looks similar to the previously announced Optimus G, except with a slight difference. It is running stock Android rather than LG's own interface and could be the first member of the upcoming revamped Nexus device program.
The device is simply known as the LG E960 and the images show it is running Android 4.1.2 – a rumoured upcoming version of the Android platform – and the Linux 3.4 kernel. A LG E960 has previously made a trip to the FCC with AT&T bands.
Specification wise, we're probably looking at something similar to the Optimus G. This would include a 4.7 inch, 1280×768 resolution IPS display and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
In the above picture the rim of a case is visible, so don't take this as the final design. Samsung did a similar thing with Galaxy S III prototype devices earlier in the year.
KitGuru says: We cannot say for certain it is indeed a Nexus device but we wouldn't bet our money against the possibility. Such devices are rumoured for announcement later this month, so stay tuned.
