Meta announced the Quest 3 headset early this year in an effort to get ahead of Apple's Vision Pro reveal. Now, Meta has announced this year's Connect conference, at which the headset will finally get its proper launch.
The event will take place from September 27th to the 28th, kicking off with a keynote from Zuckerberg on the first day, at which we should get more updates on the Quest 3, including more detailed specs, launch-day games and software, new features and a release date.
The Quest 3 is the follow-up to the popular Quest 2 VR headset, offering twice as much power as the previous model and more storage for VR apps and games. Aside from hardware, we should also see new software and feature innovations during Meta Connect, not just for the Quest 3, but for Meta's mixed reality projects across the board.
One thing we are unlikely to see is a Meta Quest Pro 2, as the headset was apparently cancelled recently to focus more effort on the Quest 3 launch.
