A few weeks ago there were rumours of a HTC device with a 5 inch, 1080p display and we're glad to say that these rumours were indeed correct. HTC has just announced the J Butterfly for the Japanese market.
The device is the first production smartphone to have a 1080p display while it has Super LCD 3 technology at heart. Packing over two million pixels into just 5 inches means that it has an astonishing pixel density of 440 PPI.
The rest of the 140 gram shell is home to a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 processor, 2 GB of memory, 16 GB internal storage plus a MicroSD slot. There is also a 8 MP rear facing camera and a 2 MP webcam.
Other specifications include LTE and NFC support, as well as some level of dust and water resistance with IPX5 certification. Lastly, it has a 2,020 mAh battery and will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
This particular model will be limited to Japan but it can't be soon to see these kind of specifications on HTC's international handsets.
KitGuru says: Say hello to the new breed of flagship smartphones.
