Nokia unveils Lumia 510, headed to India and China first

Nokia has just unveiled the Lumia 510, the lowest end Windows Phone handset from the Finnish company to date. The 510 is primarily aimed at developing smartphone markets and as such it will launch firstly in India and China in November. This will be followed by other Asia-Pacific countries and South America.

Specifications wise the Lumia 510 is not much to brag about, the 4 inch WVGA LCD display is accompanied by a meagre Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 chipset. Other specifications include 256 MB of RAM (barring installation of some applications), 5 MP camera, a 1300 mAh battery and only 4 GB of storage. It will launch on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango but presumably it will be updated at some stage to Windows Phone 7.8.

The one redeeming feature of the latest Lumia is that it is expected to cost just $199 USD. For those who like colourful things the handset will be available in red, yellow, cyan, white and black.

KitGuru says: A competitive smartphone for developing smartphone markets.
