Just 50 days after the late May launch, Samsung Galaxy S III sales reached 10 million. Another 50 days after that, the figure reached 20 million. Now, after a mere 157 days sales of Samsung's flagship smartphone have reached an impressive 30 million.
It can be said that the latest addition to the Galaxy S series has sold three times better than its predecessor. It took 150 days for the Galaxy S II to reach the 10 million sales milestone.
Samsung has also put together this infographic to celebrate the occasion.
Many of these 30 million handsets are now being updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. New features include Project Butter (smoother user interface) and expanded notifications.
KitGuru says: Congratulations to Samsung on this milestone and their obvious successes with the Galaxy brand.
