When the LG Nexus 4 was first unveiled last week with the impressively low asking price of $299 in the United States, €299 in Europe and £239 in the United Kingdom from the Google Play Store, it appeared that Google had done everything right. However, pricing outside of these areas is very much up in the air.
Retailers in Italy, Austria and Denmark have been reporting that LG's RRP outside of the Play Store's shipping reach could be in the realm of €549 to €599. Sadly this is completely out of control of Google and it does appear as if LG is relying on international sales to create a profit margin on the device.
Fortunately, pricing will be more competitive once local importers get access to Play Store stock for those in countries outside of the Google Play Store's reach.
KitGuru says: Hopefully LG clarifies international pricing for the Nexus 4 in the coming weeks. Thousands of people would buy one for €299 but not at €549.
