The latest Android distribution charts have been revealed, informing us all that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is continuing its slow infection of devices and that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich now finds itself on more than a quarter of Android devices.
Android 4.1 is now on 2.7% of devices, up from 1.8% last month. While Ice Cream Sandwich, which was announced now over 12 months ago has reached 25.8% of devices accessing the Google Play Store. Android 2.3 Gingerbread remains the slow shrinking yet dominant player with 54.2% of devices, down from 55.8% last month. Older versions such as Froyo also lost operating system share slightly.
From here on we'll see Jelly Bean jump further as more updates for popular phones such as Samsung's Galaxy S III and HTC's One X start to roll out.
KitGuru says: These statistics are slow to significantly change, but any change is good change.
