Dubai introduce new £360,000 Lamborgini police car

Dubai have the right attitude, no skimping out when it comes to equipping their police force. They take it so seriously that they are introducing the Lamborgini Aventador, in local police colours.

The picture was shown off on the service Twitter feed with a caption “Latest Dubai police patrols, now at your service”.

The car has been estimated to cost £260,000 and has a V12 engine. It can accelerate from 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 217mph, so there is little chance you could outrun the police.

The area has been dealing with an influx of young, male drivers who are using the United Arab Emirates desert motorways as a race track. The forces have introduced larger fines and even jail time if people are caught doing more than 124mph. This accounts for 15 percent of the total.

An Emirati said “If the roads are all clear, and it’s late and dark, why do I need to drive slow and risk even falling asleep when I can drive quicker to get home?. I don’t think it is fair that they risk losing their jobs for driving above 200 kmph.

Every car can easily go above 200 kmph. It is better to raise awareness in this regard instead of imposing such a harsh rule.”

Kitguru says: Try living in the United Kingdom. Surely a country with some of the most oppressive driving rules anywhere in the world.
