UK launch of ARNOVA FamilyPad 13.3 inc tablet

With Christmas coming up many families will be on the look out for an inexpensive, yet versatile tablet for the family. ARCHOS may just have the product you want.

The FamilyPad is released under the ARNOVA brand, and is a 13.3 inch 1280×800 resolution, 10 point capactive touchscreen panel which can handle HD playback at 30 frames per second.

The tablet runs on Android 4.0 ICS) and will come supplied with software installed, featuring digital board games selected by the company.

The hardware inside is based around an ARM Cortex A8 running at 1GHZ, and there is 1GB of memory onboard with 8GB of SSD storage, with the option to improve this with a MicroSD card.

The tablet also has a 720p front facing camera (2MP) for webchat and another to the rear for photographs. It has built in Wi-FI, a single micro USB port, mini HDMI out and an audio jack for headphones or speakers.

The tablet will support, APE, OGG and FLAC, as well as WAV and MP3 formats. Battery life is rated to 10 hour per charge or just shy of a week on standby. The company also include a display stand for watching video content and there are stereo speakers built into the device.

Retail price is set to £274.99 inc vat and it will be released before Christmas. Looks interesting.

  1. Apple vs Androiod , How good is Security, and well are their music making apps?

    This for me is the principle difference between these two platform. Only thing is no one speaks about the relative difference in security, nor is there any mention of music creation on these two systems. Its left to those in the know to find the answers for themselves.
