Devolver Digital delays 5 games into 2024

As video game development gets more and more complex, we have seen an increasing number of titles being delayed out of their intended release years. Indie publisher Devolver Digital has once again opted to do the unconventional thing by hosting a showcase dedicated to its games which have been pushed out of 2023 – announcing 5 delays in total.

The ‘Devolver Delayed Showcase’ saw the publisher give updates on many of its upcoming titles, revealing which of their games are still planned for 2023 and which have been delayed into next year.  The short 3-minute long showcase revealed that 5 games have been pushed back to 2024:

  • The Plucky Squire
  • Stick it to the Stickman
  • Skate Story
  • Anger Foot
  • Pepper Grinder

For those who are disappointed by any of these delays, the publisher did show off the remainder of 2023’s releases which will in fact come out this year, namely:

  • Gunbrella
  • Wizard with a Gun
  • The Talos Principle 2
  • The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood
  • Karmazoo
  • McPixel 3 DLC

As more and more games have gotten delayed over the years, fans have become accustomed to publishers announcing these via a Twitter post or through their blogs. It is therefore interesting and refreshing to see Devolver Digital not only refusing to shy away from these delays, but actively market this fact. Hopefully all of these titles end up benefiting from the extra development time.
