The latest Android platform distribution numbers were revealed today, revealing that Android 2.3 Gingerbread is still on over half of all Android devices with a 50.8% share. This has fallen from 54.2% last month. Android 4.x Jelly Bean has also made strong gains.
Android 4.1 adoption has doubled from 2.7% to 5.9% month on month while the latest version, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean debuts with 0.8%.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is still on the rise, especailly with newer budget smartphones being released, up to 27.5% from 25.8% last month.
The versions of Android that came before 2.3 Gingerbread are slowly dropping away as always but still hold a noticeable 13.4% share of Android devices.
