Research In Motion are betting the farm on their upcoming Blackberry 10 next year, their next generation smartphone platform which they hope will bring them back into the hearts and minds of the mainstream smartphone audience.
RIM have had a pretty dire 18 months, and the company is now under new management, their new 10 platform has been delayed by almost a year and the dominance by Apple and Google seems impossible to challenge. Some images and a video have leaked online though, and its actually looking pretty good.
A website in Vietnam posted a huge collection of images of the L-Series Blackberry 10 devices. This is meant to be the first range of BB10 to reach the market and is an all touch phone. A second handset with physical QWERTY keyboard will be released later in the year.
The L-Series is based on Dev Beta hardware that RIM have given to BlackBerry developers. The touch screen interface looks to be well organised and there are buttons for volume, action keys, power button, as well as micro HDMI and microUSB ports. There are back and forward facing cameras with a flash system and there appear to be light sensors on the front.
There are no pictures of the internals of the hardware although we would expect a dual core design with the usual bluetooth, GPS and WiFi options. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSs5Q_rcgX4′]
The video below shows the interface in detail so you can make your own minds up. Just don't ask us to translate!
