Thus far HTC have announced and released two Windows Phone 8 devices; the Windows Phone 8S by HTC and Windows Phone 8X by HTC. Both devices are somewhat small by today's standard and neither carry specifications worthy of a true flagship.
Back in late June specifications were leaked for a device codenamed the Zenith and the same device has possibly been cancelled due to resolution limits of Windows Phone 8. The latest version of Microsoft's smartphone strategy introduced support for 720p resolution displays but that is reportedly not good enough for HTC. Because 1080p is not supported by the platform, HTC has thrown out the idea of a particular handset as anything less than a 1080p display would not be as competitive.
It is unknown when Microsoft will add support for 1080p displays in Windows Phone 8 but the next major update is expected in Q2 or Q3 of 2013.
KitGuru says: It is rather disappointing from our point of view that HTC have had to cancel a handset due to software limitations.
