In what is fast becoming the ‘TV' event of the year CES will be showcasing another monster TV system from LG. Their ‘Hector' laser TV projector will be shown to the public in Las Vegas in January. It promises to create a 100 inch screen image from only 22 inches away.
This ultra short throw laser projector can deliver a 1080p image from just 22 inches away. The company bundle the screen and it has a digital tuner, and 10W speakers built in.
The projector has three HDMI input ports, an RS 232 port and Smart TV capabilities controlled by the LG Magic Remote.
It delivers a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio with WiDi and Miracast compatibility. LG claim the laser system will run for 25,000 hours without needing replacement.
No information yet on the pricing or availability, but we would expect it will be available by Summer 2013.
