The Sony Xperia Z smartphone impressed at CES and the company's next equally impressive device could be an equally flagship Android tablet. The possible Xperia Tablet Z replicates the recently announced smartphone in some respects with the same IP55 and IP57 water and dust resistance certifications.
While Sony has not officially acknowledged the Xperia Tablet Z as yet the purported specifications include a 10.1 inch 1080p display, a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage. Multimedia capture will be covered by a 8.1 MP rear camera and a 2.2 MP front facing camera. There will also be optional LTE support.
The Xperia Z tablet will likely launch with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean but by the time the rumoured launch of H2 2013 comes around Android 5.0 will have likely made an entrance. Furthermore Samsung, Asus and Apple will have introduced new flagship tablets by this time.
KitGuru says: The Xperia Tablet Z team should be striving for a MWC debut or else this device will likely to relegated to lower ranks.
