Apple Retail VP Jerry McDougal leaves

Last year Apple fired John Browett, the ex Dixons executive who joined as Vice President of retail. Browett joined Apple as a replacement for Ron Johnson who left Apple in 2011. The latest reports indicate that Jerry McDougal has just resigned as Apple's Retail VP.

ifoAppleStore says  that McDougal's responsibilities at Apple included retail marketing, product merchandising, loss prevention, store operations and customer loyalty programs. McDougal was seen as a strong candidate for Apple's SVP of Retail position.

Apple spokesman Steve Dowling talked to AllThingsD and said that McDougal is being replaced by Apple VP of Finance Jim Bean.

“Retail has an incredibly strong network of leaders at the store and regional level, and they will continue the excellent work they’ve done over the past decade to revolutionize retailing with unique, innovative services and a focus on the customer that is second to none. Jim Bean is moving to Retail to help support our store teams. Jim has been at Apple for 15 years and is a great leader who understands our culture and focus on customer service.”

McDougal's LinkedIn profile shows that McDougal was VP of Apple Retail for more than 12 years.
