Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem game announced

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been having a massive year, with 2023 alone seeing the successful release of a brand new film; DLC for the popular arcade-styled beat ‘em up Shredder’s Revenge; multiple crossovers and the announcement of a video game adaptation based on The Last Ronin graphic novel series. Now, another TMNT game has been announced to be in development: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

As reported by Gematsu, a sequel to the recently-released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem film has been announced. Set months after the events of the film itself, the game is said to feature “visuals inspired by the film’s bold, painterly art style” and will combine “energetic ninja teamwork gameplay with a humorous narrative.”

The title is being published by Outright Games for PC as well as consoles and is planned to release some time in 2024. Speaking on this project, the publisher’s chief operating officer Stephanie Malham said:

“Nickelodeon is one of our longest standing licensing collaborators and we’re overjoyed to have the opportunity to bring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to life in a brand new and original video game,” with Paramount’s senior vice president of games and emerging media ‘Doug Rosen’ adding:

“It’s exciting to launch our first console game set in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem universe, especially as the franchise only continues to grow. The vibrancy of this new film’s animation lends itself perfectly to video games, and we can’t wait for everyone to play it.”

Following the successful release of Shredder’s Revenge, it is exciting to see the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles getting multiple new projects across a suite of different genres. Hopefully we hear more from both Mutant Mayhem and The Last Ronin soon.
