Final Fantasy 16 is finally heading to PC, DLC is in the works too

We've known for a while now that Square Enix is planning to bring Final Fantasy 16 to PC but we've had little news on the progress of this new version. That is finally changing this week, with the studio confirming that Final Fantasy 16 is now in development for PC, and the game is set to get a couple of DLCs too.

During a panel at PAX West over the weekend, Final Fantasy 16 producer, Naoki Yoshida, confirmed that development of the PC version of the game is now underway. The team took a couple of extra months to patch up the PS5 version of the game, which just received its version 1.10 patch and can now move forward with plans for the PC release. Yoshida had previously confirmed that a PC version would come eventually, but also warned fans that it would take longer than six months and would not be out in 2023.

Given that the PC version isn't going to make its way out this year, we'll have to hope that the game will be ready sometime in 2024. Final Fantasy 16 fans will have more to look forward to next year though, as Square Enix has also confirmed plans for two new DLCs for the game.

There's no word on when the DLC will arrive yet but it will include new story content. Square Enix hopes to have more information to share by the end of the year.

KitGuru Says: Final Fantasy 16 has been one of my favourite games of the year so far but the performance mode on PS5 isn't quite up to par, so I've been holding off for the eventual PC version to get a proper 60FPS experience. Will you be picking up Final Fantasy 16 when it arrives on PC?
