Infographic: Android’s rise to fame

These days Apple's iPhones are not the pinncale of the smartphone world; and mainstream media outlets now refer to smartphones as smartphones instead of iPhones. Android is currently the most popular smartphone operating system across the world and could quite easily take the tablet throne in 2013.

The infographic below takes an interesting look at how Google has nurtured Android to its current day fame and some pretty amazing comparisons to the Big Mac. While the open source nature of Android and the large range of devices has undoubtedly helped Android as a platform greatly; quicker turn arounds for operating system updates for third party devices should be a top priority.
