After Lenovo announced their education-focussed Chromebook last week, another major manufacturer looks to be gearing up to launch a Chromebook of their own. After Acer and Samsung introducing new and revised offerings late last year, HP is set to join the growing Chrome OS contingent in the coming weeks.
A leaked specifications sheet has revealed a 14 inch Chromebook from HP. This is set to become the largest Chromebook display to date, yet retains the standard resolution of 1366×768 over something higher – indicating that this will still be a device sold on value rather than pure specifications.
Inside will be a Intel Celeron 1.1 GHz CPU, 2 GB of RAM and a 16 GB SSD. HP's first Chromebook will also feature Wi-Fi 802.11 n, Blueotth, Ethernet, a multi-card reader, HD webcam, 3 USB ports and an HDMI port. Battery life has been rated at 4 hours 15 minutes, which is noticeably down on the Samsung Chromebook's 7 hours.
KitGuru says: With many major manufacturers getting on-board with Chrome OS; Chromebooks could soon be the go-to cheap mobile productivity device.
